Recently we hosted a Complexity Leadership Symposium to launch the new Complexity Leadership Lab.

Alongside collaborators from across the ANU and within the Menzies Foundation we invited hundreds of people to take part in shaping conversations.

We launched with stories of how this lab came to be, and the importance of complexity leadership research, particularly for organisations.

Amongst conversations there was an interactive demonstration of Dragonfly Thinking with Professor Anthea Roberts from the ANU School of Regulation and Global Governance, who worked with the crowd to demonstrate how Dragonfly Thinking can help users take on multiple and diverse perspectives of complex issues to enable sensemaking and decision-making.

This demonstration excited many of our audience members, with the breaks being full of interesting discussions and ideas!

One of the highlights of this event was the combination of industry, academia, and all the lovely middle spaces in between of people who hold multiple roles, and/or occupy both spaces.

Panel discussions including Q&A from the audience yielded such interesting conversations. The wealth of experience and knowledge in this room was incredible!

At the end of Day 1 we ventured from the Innovation Space in Birch towards the beautiful heritage Canberra Icon: the Shine Dome. Professor Mary Uhl-Bien’s public oration was a perfect way to link Day 1 and 2 together.

Sticky notes + ideas = a perfect match.

Thank you to everyone who came along, contributed ideas, took part in discussions, asked sensational questions, and celebrated the launch of the ANU Complexity Leadership Lab together!
