As Student Services Officer, Murray Johnson is looking forward to meeting and supporting the School of Cybernetics students (and those who support them).

After completing his undergraduate studies in Communications at Charles Sturt University, Mitchell, Murray decided universities were the best and only place to live – the atmosphere, the potential, the energy. So he promptly started working in the public service.

… and not long after was travelling overseas, uncovering a whole new perspective on life, the universe and everything. His interests gradually drew him into education and from there to universities - first as an academic English teacher (a Masters in TESOL was completed in there somewhere) before coordinating major university events and finally managing an international admissions team. At which stage COVID struck.

When given the opportunity, Murray still gets great pleasure out of coordinating events and solving problems for people. Indeed, he just likes solving puzzles, including jigsaws (he’s over Wordle, Worldle, Quordle, Waffle, Hurdle, currently enjoying Nonograms). But he also loves an in depth analysis on anything from that football match on the weekend to the state of international politics.
