Connector. Driving force. Writer.#

Ellen O’Brien is a researcher, communicator and business developer in emerging technologies and complex systems research. She pursues projects and opportunities that shape systems change.

At the School, she is a Project Manager, contributing to projects and publications that largely focus on the social and cultural dimensions of creative technologies. One of the things she enjoys most is taking complex ideas and communicating them in simple, but creative ways.

Throughout her work at the Australian National University she has been part of several key startegic initiatives for the University, helping to build the University’s first Innovation Institute and to establish the School of Cybernetics — the first new School of this Century at the ANU.

She holds a Master of International Relations degree and a Bachelor of Creative Writing.

You are on Aboriginal land.

The Australian National University acknowledges, celebrates and pays our respects to the Ngunnawal and Ngambri people of the Canberra region and to all First Nations Australians on whose traditional lands we meet and work, and whose cultures are among the oldest continuing cultures in human history.
