Ellen O’Brien is a Research Fellow at the School of Cybernetics. She leads projects in collaboration with Industry, government and the broader community to navigate organisational change through and with emerging technologies.

Ellen uses cybernetics to unpack and manage the organisational and societal impacts of adopting and scaling complex, data-driven technologies.

She has been part of several key initiatives at the Australian National University focused on responsible AI, including the University’s first innovation institute (3AI Insitute) & the School of Cybernetics.

She holds a master’s in international relations and a bachelor’s degree in creative writing.
