Alison Kershaw is the Research Assistant at the School of Cybernetics. Alison remembers the day her Dad brought home her family’s first Commodore 64 and she has had a love/hate relationship with technology ever since. Her studies and career have taken her around the world, with her work including roles in government, the disability sector and the arts.
Alison is the founder and former Chair of South Australian Makers Inc, who established Makerspace Adelaide, was producer of the award winning Maker Faire Adelaide. Alison is a member of the first cohort of 3A Institute at ANU where she completed a Masters of Applied Cybernetics.
For much of her career she has worked to create opportunities to enable people to use, understand and benefit from technology in its many forms. Her work invariably includes education, community development, curating events and working with others to make great things happen.
