Artificial Intelligence is suddenly everywhere. Concern about the impact of these technologies is playing out across sectors, meaning that managing AI responsibly is becoming a key strategic benefit to your organisation.

AS ISO/IEC 42001:2023, Information technology - Artificial intelligence - Management System is the world-first standard for managing AI responsibly. It addresses the unique challenges AI poses, such as ethical considerations, transparency, and continuous learning. For organisations, it sets out a structured way to manage risks and opportunities associated with AI, balancing innovation with governance.

Standards Australia’s adoption of this world-first standard has sparked a collaboration with the School of Cybernetics. Together, we have crafted an immersive online learning module, inviting professionals and organisations to delve deep into the standard.

Maia Gould, Engagement Lead, ANU School of Cybernetics “Standards are an important way that we as a society address the safe, sustainably and responsible implementation of technologies like AI. We are thrilled to collaborate with Standards Australia as a learning partner in the adoption of the AI Management Standard. This partnership is an important contribution to our work with organisations seeking to enhance their governance skills in the rapidly evolving AI landscape”.

Kareen Riley-Takos, Chief Operating Officer at Standards Australia said, “We know there is a need for stringent guidelines and practices with AI. The adoption of this standard saw vast local interest and our training courses aim to meet this interest and help local organisations better understand and utilise the standard”.

This 2-hour online module will provide an in-depth overview of the new standard, provide a succinct explanation of AI, and cut through the complexity of AI at an organisational level, allowing you to understand risk management best practices in AI.

The module is on-demand offering participants the opportunity to access the material when it suits them. Participants will receive a certificate of completion following their attendance.
