Mathematician. Complexity Scientist. Shantyman.#
James Taylor is a Research Assistant at the School of Cybernetics and is currently an honours student in computer science and mathematics at the Australian National University. Prior to joining the school, he worked at Liquid Instruments developing automated testing frameworks and educational material.
He is particularly interested in the complexities of developing and deploying cyber-physical systems and using cybernetics to better understand complexity. As a finder of strange facts, James can often be found seeking out anything from histories of folk tales through to the origins of 19th century ships.
James has been an avid shantyman at the Canberra Shanty Club since 2018 and has a particular interest in sci-fi shanties.
