Social Scientist. Facilitator. Bass player.#
Hannah is the Institute for Water Futures Research Fellow at the School of Cybernetics.
She is an interdisciplinary researcher, thinker, and doer, of environmental social science, with a focus on reaching and building equitable futures for young people.
Hannah has a background in Science Communication practice and research, specifically working with teenagers to explore how they engage with the complexities of climate change.
At the School of Cybernetics, Hannah is researching and developing tools to engage diverse audiences (such as youth, non-Caucasian, and gender diverse folks) in building an AI-enabled and sustainable future. Her current projects include: researching cross-boundary and community leadership needs in the Murray-Darling Basin; how Traditional Owners can develop and use AI-tools in water management; development and testing of creative futuring tools for policy; how young voices are empowered or shut out of climate change decision-making; and many more. Finally, Hannah is an expert facilitator, where her education and science communication research combine for inclusive and impactful learning experiences. She enjoys and regularly appears on radio, video, and in print, and is happy to discuss any of these themes with interested media.
Hannah is also always excited to learning something new, welcoming interdisciplinary collaborations from all corners.
When not on campus you can find Hannah tinkering in the garden of her homestead, or on stage with her band and counting down to the next National Folk Festival.
