Dominika is a PhD student in Cybernetics, exploring how stakeholder engagement in technology policy can be reimagined using cybernetic principles - making processes more adaptive, participatory, and attuned to complexity. Before diving into doctoral research, she spent nearly four years at INTERPOL’s Innovation Centre investigating the societal impacts of artificial intelligence in law enforcement, focusing on AI as a tool, a threat, and a source of evidence.
Dominika holds degrees in Strategic Studies, Applied Ethics, Asian Studies, and Applied Cybernetics - proof that she might be collecting degrees as a hobby. She has taught at the Singapore University of Social Sciences where she brought together law enforcement, academia, and industry to think critically about the future of emerging technologies.
When she’s not untangling complexity or writing, she co-runs Le Temple, a guesthouse and cultural venue in East Iceland that hosts concerts and exhibitions. She shares life with Miso, a working-line border collie with a personality uncannily similar to her own. (If you’re having a bad day, Miso might help: @misoparadiso.)
Areas of Expertise: Artificial Intelligence (AI), Ethics, Strategic Foresight, Technology Policy, Systems Thinking, East Asia
