Demo Day marks the end of the teaching period here at the School of Cybernetics. It’s a moment for our students to showcase their skills, ideas, and builds with our staff, alumni, and wider community.
This Demo Day we saw students come together in groups to take a problem and create a systematic and cyber-physical solution.
This year we had 5 student group projects, and mirroring the dominant theme from earlier in the year, many of these projects have a health and wellbeing focus.
Anthony and Kevin
Rover aka ‘Jimi’#
Rover is a 3D printed robotic transport system designed to respond quickly in rural emergency scenarios, filling in the gap between when the disaster occurs and when emergency responders arrive.
Vaswati, Annie, Gabriel
Lexi#
Lexi is a smart wardrobe system that embeds reflective, creativity and sustainability into the everyday act of dressing. Lexi does this through blending computer vision, machine learning, and agentic AI.
Jamie, Ren, Yue
YourHealth#
YourHealth is a health data prototype that aims to put you in control of your medical information. This cyber-physical project navigates the complex regulatory and safety needs through a user-centric framework that integrates NFC, homomorphic encryption, and worksite environment data.
Amber, Michael, Jessica
Breath Connection#
Breath Connection is a breath regulation system that integrates a modular cyber-physical wearable device. Programmed with a custom artificial intelligence model, breath connection combines the physicality of French knitted conductive thread with the possibilities of speculative futures for wide application and adoption.
Alisha, Nathan, Jax
Cafe Ears#
Cafe Ears is a series of wearable prototypes that reduce auditory overwhelm, increasing accessibility for people in noisy settings. This cyber-physical system includes an algorithm that allows the user to tune into only their desired sounds.
It’s incredible to see all the dazzling prototypes created by our 2025 Cohort of Master of Applied Cybernetics students. It’s even more incredible to think where these prototypes and people will be in the near future.
Congratulations all for another fantastic Demo Day!
