The School of Cybernetics intends to establish Cybernetics as an important tool for navigating major societal transformations, through capability building, policy development and safe, sustainable and responsible approaches to new systems.
The School of Cybernetics was founded by Distinguished Professor Genevieve Bell. She served as the inaugural Director 2021-2023 and was appointed as the ANU Vice-Chancellor in 2024.
